Indira Gandhi International Airport is an important airport that serves as an international aviation hub of the Indian capital as well as the rest of Northern India. Located in Palam, the Delhi International Airport is also the largest and busiest airport in India. Earlier the airport was named Palam airport which later in 1986 changed to IGI after Indira Gandhi, the former Prime Minister of India.

New Delhi Airport Terminals

There are three active scheduled Delhi terminals and a dedicated cargo terminal. Ltd, and is over 1km away from terminal 3.

Arrivals & Departures At New Delhi Airport 

Terminal 1 arrivals include low-cost carriers like IndiGo,  GoAir and SpiceJet, and is divided into Terminal 1-C, used for domestic arrivals, and Terminal 1-D, used for departures. The terminal can handle 15 million passengers annually.  The terminal 1 departure includes the same domestic airlines that fly across the nation.

Terminal 2 arrivals, temporarily host the low-cost carriers of Terminal 1. All flights of GoAir will prefer Terminal 2 arrival & Terminal 2 departure. The Delhi airport terminal 2 offers a hassle-free experience for the passengers including easy check-in counters, safe baggage handling, belt conveyors and more X-ray machines. 

Terminal 3 arrivals include all International flights. Moreover, domestic Delhi airport flights are operated in T1 or T3, depending on the carrier. Flights like Air Vistara, Jet Airways, Air India and an LCC-Air Asia operate from Delhi airport terminal 3. Terminal 3 departure also includes the same feature as the arrivals.

  5. Hotel Pick-up- Most big hotels in Delhi provide Airport pickup services for their guests. Usually, it costs more than a PrePaid and Radio taxi.
  6. Delhi Metro Train– The fastest choice is the Delhi Metro, Airport Express Line. It is a good, economical choice if you don’t have much luggage with you. The Airport Express Metro line runs from about 5 AM to 11 PM.
  7. Public Buses at Delhi Airport- Most buses that run from Delhi airport are owned either by the State-owned Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) or private contractors.

Car Parking Facility at the DEL Airport 

The Indira Gandhi International Airport has a well-maintained parking area, offering safe parking for all visitors. All the Delhi airport parking locations are well connected to the Terminal buildings. The Delhi Airport Authority has allowed Delhi Airport parking to operate 24 hours a week. 

Terminal 1 parking is located just 50 metres from the arrivals area and provides cheap parking at Delhi airport. Terminal 2 parking is located 100 metres from the arrivals area. Terminal 3 parking is the multi-level car Parking that is located just 50 meters from the arrivals area and has proper facilities for Delhi international airport parking.

The car parking fares for up to 30 minutes is INR 100, 30 minutes to 1 hour is INR 150, 1 hour to 2 hours is INR 230, and after 4 hours up to 24 hours is INR 500. On the other hand, two-wheeler parking for 30 minutes is up to INR 20, 30 minutes to 1 hour is INR 40, and up to 24 hours is INR 300.
