Itinerary

Upon arrival at Srinagar airport, you will receive assistance and then proceed to Pahalgam (7200 feet above sea level), known as the ‘Village of Shepherds’.

En route, you will visit the world-famous Saffron growing fields, Awantipura ruins (9th century), and Martand Temple (Sun Temple). Pahalgam is renowned for its association with the Indian film industry, offers various trekking routes, and serves as the base camp for the Amarnath pilgrimage.

Check-in at your hotel/resort and enjoy an overnight stay there.

Insight: Srinagar to Pahalgam distance is around 90 km and will take approx. 2.5 hours.

Today, after breakfast, explore the beauty of Pahalgam and its surrounding areas.

Aru Valley: Aru Valley, located 12 km from Pahalgam, is a captivating village known for its scenic meadows, horse riding, hiking, and trekking opportunities. In the winter, it transforms into a snowy wonderland, perfect for skiing.

Betaab Valley: This valley, situated 7 km from Pahalgam, is famous for its picturesque surroundings, deodar trees, pine forests, and the Lidder River flowing through it. It gained popularity after Bollywood movies started being shot here.

Chandanwari: Located 15 km from Pahalgam, Chandanwari is the starting point of the Amarnath Yatra pilgrimage. It’s also a great place for snow sledging and picnics.

Return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Gulmarg, often referred to as the ‘Meadow of Flowers’. At an altitude of 2730 meters, you’ll have a full day at leisure to enjoy leisurely walks on lush green meadows and take a gondola ride.

Insight: Pahalgam to Gulmarg distance is around 140 km and will take approx. 3 hours 40 minutes.

After an early breakfast, proceed to Srinagar for a full day of sightseeing. Srinagar is famous for its scenic Dal Lake and its surroundings. Visit the following places:

Shankaracharya Temple: Situated atop the highest hill in Srinagar, this Hindu shrine offers a panoramic view of the city. It dates back to 2500 BC and is dedicated to Lord Shiva.

Nishat Bagh (Garden of Pleasure): This Mughal garden, located on the banks of Dal Lake, was built by Empress Noor Jahan’s brother Asif Khan in 1633 AD. It features seven terraces and a central water course.

Shalimar Bagh (Garden of Pleasure): Originally planted by Mughal emperor Jehangir for Empress Noor Jahan in 1619 AD, this garden was later extended in 1727 AD.

Enjoy an overnight stay at a houseboat in Srinagar.

After breakfast, embark on a full-day excursion to Sonamarg which is known as ‘The Golden Meadow’. It is 9000 feet above sea level and is 85 km one way. Surrounded by mountains up to 5300 feet high, Sonamarg is a natural wonderland divided by a spur of the Thajwas Range.

Return to Srinagar for dinner & an overnight stay at a hotel.

After an early breakfast, you will be driven to Srinagar airport for your departure.
