Fort Cabo De Rama Address: Fort Cabo De Rama is one of the most beautiful and notable that glorifies history. It is sandwiched between two popular beaches that are Cavelossim and Agonda. It is located on Taluka Fort Cabo De Rama road, Canacona region of Goa 403702.

History of Cabo De Rama Fort

Cabo De Rama fort’s history dates back to the time of Ramayana. According to the belief or stories from the locals, Lord Rama, Goddess Sita and Lord Lakshmana resided at this fort during their 14 years of exile. This is also the reason why this fort got its name as Cabo De Rama fort. However, after that, the local Soonda rulers built the fort and commanded from here. Thus, it is one notable and historical monument of India.

After the arrival of the Portuguese rulers in Goa in 1763, they conquered the fort by winning over the local kings. First, they modernized it with their Portuguese architecture and then used it as their military base. After a while, it was converted into a prison.
