Air India Launches Easy Connect Flights From Ahmedabad To 26 Global Destinations

Posted on Friday, September 4th, 2026 by Renu Rathour Leave a Comment

Air India has launched its Easy Connect services from Ahmedabad, connecting Gujarat travellers to 26 international destinations through Delhi. The initiative is part of the Government of India’s hub-and-spoke aviation model, designed to strengthen connectivity through Indian airports.

Ahmedabad is now part of Air India’s Easy Connect network, alongside Amritsar and Varanasi.

Two Daily Ahmedabad-Delhi Easy Connect Flights

Air India has designated two daily flights between Ahmedabad and Delhi as Easy Connect services:

  • AI1121: Ahmedabad 8:15 PM → Delhi 10:00 PM, starting September 1
  • AI1117: Ahmedabad 8:25 AM → Delhi 10:15 AM, starting September 2

Together, these flights provide onward connections to 26 international destinations within four hours of arrival in Delhi.

Connecting Gujarat To Global Destinations

The Easy Connect services provide access via Delhi to destinations across the US, Canada, UK, Europe, Australia, Asia Pacific, Southeast Asia and the Gulf.

Air India lists destinations including Shanghai, Kathmandu, Dubai, Amsterdam, Manila, Paris, Colombo, Ho Chi Minh City, Frankfurt, Vienna, London, Milan, Phuket, Kuala Lumpur, Riyadh, Birmingham, Copenhagen, Rome, Zurich, Singapore, Seoul, Bangkok, Hanoi, Toronto and Sydney across the two services.

Simplified International Travel Through Delhi

Under the Easy Connect programme, international passengers travelling from Ahmedabad can complete through check-in to their final destination and immigration formalities at Ahmedabad Airport.

Passengers can then connect through Delhi without re-checking their baggage or changing terminals. This allows them to travel through Delhi as international transit passengers rather than connecting through a foreign airport.

Inbound Easy Connect Services To Ahmedabad Coming Soon

Air India has also announced that inbound Easy Connect operations to Ahmedabad will begin soon.

The service will allow passengers arriving internationally to connect through Delhi for their onward journey to Ahmedabad.

Air India To Expand Easy Connect Network

The Ahmedabad launch is part of Air India’s phased nationwide rollout of Easy Connect services.

The airline plans to progressively connect more domestic “spoke” cities with its primary hubs in Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru. Air India says Easy Connect services from several other Indian cities will begin in the coming weeks.

Supporting India’s Global Aviation Hub Ambitions

Air India says the Easy Connect initiative is intended to encourage more international passengers to transit through Indian airports instead of overseas hubs.

According to the airline, nearly 25 million passengers travel long-haul to and from India each year, with close to 20 million being connecting travellers. Around 85% of these connecting passengers currently transit through foreign hubs.

The initiative aims to progressively route more of this connecting traffic through Indian hubs and strengthen India’s position as a global aviation hub.

Important Information For Passengers

Indian passport holders travelling internationally on Air India’s Easy Connect flights are required to enrol in DigiYatra.

Air India also states that web check-in and Customs declaration are not available at spoke airports.

Bookings for Easy Connect flights are available through Air India’s website, mobile app, contact centre and travel agents.
