First Airline With Direct Service From Srinagar To Sharjah

GoFirst airline has become the first domestic airline in the country to start direct travel services from Srinagar to Sharjah in the UAE. “The airline operated by the Wadia Group provided direct international flights to the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir on 23 October 2021”. Minister of Home Affairs and the First Minister of Co-operation of India – Amit Shah flagged off the first international flight services from Srinagar to Sharjah with a full contingent of passengers in the presence of Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir – Manoj Sinha and other dignitaries including Minister of Civil Aviation – Jyotiraditya Scindia.
Go First airline’s “Maiden flight G8 1595” took off from Sheikh Ul-Alam International Airport in Srinagar at around 6.30 PM on 23 October 2021. GoFirst airline will operate four direct flights to Sharjah every week on the same route.
According to a GoFirst airline statement – the introduction of direct flights on the new route, which will be operated four times a week, will boost trade and tourism between Srinagar and the UAE, as well as meet the demand for suitable travel options for both the cities, which are also the most popular tourist spots.
Also added – the new international flight services will support trade growth and investment ties with Srinagar and Sharjah. Direct flights from Sharjah will provide seamless connections from Srinagar and other cities of India to Sharjah such as Chandigarh, Delhi, Jammu, Leh and Mumbai.
