It can be hard to part with our possessions, but when we travel, it’s often necessary to downsize so that we can fit everything into a single bag. Packing light is one of the best ways to make air travel less stressful. There are a lot of things to think about when you’re packing for a flight, and making sure you don’t go over your baggage allowance is one of them. With airlines increasing fares, it is important to know the weight and size restrictions. This guide will give you a comprehensive overview of the GoAir baggage allowance policy, along with some handy tips on how to stay within those limits.
GoAir Airline
GoAir, currently known as GoFirst, is an Indian ultra-low-cost airline established in 2005 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. It is owned by Wadia Group and is the fifth largest airline in India with an 8.4% passenger market share. GoAir Airline operates a network of 39 destinations including 29 domestic and 10 international routes. It has a total of 325 daily flights and over 2200 weekly flights. GoAir flights are also known for their services and minimum baggage allowance, with an aim to make air travel affordable and accessible to the general public.
GoAir Baggage Allowance
GoAir offers a generous baggage allowance to its passengers, allowing them to check in one piece of baggage and passengers are also allowed to carry one cabin bag. In addition, passengers are also advised to arrive at the airport well in advance of their flight so that they have time to check in their luggage. If passengers have excess baggage, they can choose to pay for it online or at the airport. With GoFirst’s generous baggage allowance, passengers can travel worry-free and with plenty of luggage.
GoAir Cabin Baggage Allowance
Airlines’ baggage policies vary in terms of how much luggage a passenger is allowed to bring on board. GoAir has a policy that each passenger can carry a minimum of 7 kg, which includes a laptop and a duty-free shopping bag. As per the GoAir baggage allowance, the maximum size of your cabin baggage should not exceed 115 cm.
Flight | No Of Pieces | Maximum Weight | Dimensions (Size) |

International Flights | 1 piece | 7 kg | 55cm+35cm+25cm totalling 115cms (45 inches) |
Passengers are allowed to bring certain items free of charge in addition to their baggage allowance, as long as they comply with applicable security regulations. These items include
- An overcoat wrap or blanket.
- An umbrella or walking stick.
- A lady’s handbag, lady’s pocketbook or lady’s purse.
- A reasonable amount of reading matters for the flight.
- A small camera and/or a pair of binoculars.
- Infant’s food for consumption in flight.
- A fully collapsible invalid’s wheelchair and/or a pair of crutches
Passengers are not allowed to carry anything on the aircraft that does not fit under the seat in front of them or in the attached storage compartment. If a passenger’s hand baggage is too large, heavy or unsafe, your baggage will be included as checked baggage.
Further, baggage which is not fit for transport in the cargo compartment, such as delicate musical instruments, as per the hand baggage allowance policy mentioned above, may be carried in the cabin compartment only if the passenger has given prior written notice to the airline and permitted by GoAir. Also, passengers may have to pay a separate charge for this service.
